An invasive refurbishment with added extensions to this 1960’s built detached property on the fringes of the Chiltern Hills. We redesigned all floor levels adding a comfortable staircase to the first floor to reach an open plan loft room accommodating the master bedroom with dressing area, and master en-suite and resized the first-floor bedrooms to add more en-suite shower rooms. A contemporary new open tread staircase with glass balustrading invites the visitor to the generous first floor area. The previous outdoor space between the existing double garage and the main building is filled with a single storey extension forming an expensive new entrance lobby from the driveway. The garage has been extended to house a workshop, boot room and dog’s bathroom which can be entered from the new hallway. On the other side of the building a large single storey structure wraps around the flank wall to accommodate the kitchen and dining area, making room for a large and spacious living area in the main house overlooking the garden in front.
