german embassy primary school, ham

due to the increasing number of german pupils, a new primary school building on the grounds of the german embassy school in petersham became necessary.

the new two-storey, flat roofed building has a slightly curved shape, and has been positioned on the remaining tip of permitted building zone outside the flood area of the river thames, next to an existing sports hall complex. the all-glass facade – in post and beam construction – faces north and allows maximum light to penetrate its 12 classrooms.

the project was completed at the end of 2013 in partnership with dietz kirelli planungswerkstatt.
