Ormond Avenue, Hampton

We are currently working on the construction tender drawings for this detached 5-bedroom Victorian family dwelling on a corner plot in Ormond Avenue, Hampton following the successful planning approval for a new single storey wrap around rear and side extension and replacement of the existing garage with a modern annex which is connected to the main building through a glazed structure. The building has a spacious hallway at the ground floor with access to two side wings forming a separate reception room as well as a home office. Behind a new sculptural staircase, we dissolved the existing room sequence to create an open plan kitchen and dining area, with a play room and storage area as well as an informal lounge area with access to the rear garden. Whilst the rear extension responds to the period style of the host building in proportion,  aesthetics and choice of material, the annex building is of a classic contemporary look with full height vertical and horizontal glazing elements on both sides and vertical timber louvres placed in front to provide shading to the space behind. Upstairs, all internal rooms have been redesigned to create more en-suite bathrooms, with the master bedroom connecting to a spacious dressing area and master bathroom behind.
