at first sight it seems quite an easy task to add a simple flat-roofed infill extension to the rear of a victorian semi-detached house in esher. it is quite another to make it look unique and exciting. when these clients discussed their project with us during the Grand Designs Live show in london, it became clear that the house needed a bit more than a standard, white rendered box to be added to the kitchen area.
We designed a floating ‘C’ shaped extension with a gap on one side which frames the views and allows light to flood into the kitchen and dining areas. downstairs, large sliding doors separate the main living areas, giving the client complete flexibility to open or close off rooms as needed. bespoke joinery items such as full height storage in the tv room and built-in dining room furniture have been designed by our in-house interiors team. upstairs, an en suite was added to a bedroom and the family bathroom redesigned, whilst the rest of the house was fully refurbished.Previous project Next project
