German-British Chamber of Commerce Event, Berlin
On 27th–28th April, English and German Chamber of Commerce hosted the first forum, that brought together members and professionals from the UK and Germany. Across the two days, participants connected with industry experts, exchanged ideas and explored new opportunities for collaboration. We have participated to contribute our services as a bilingual practice with expertise in both countries. The event marked a valuable step towards cooperation and continued partnership.
Ormond Avenue
We visited site today to review the progress of our Phase One extension design. Significant progress is being made, with the blockwork well underway, rooflights being installed and the steels incorporated in line with our drawings and the engineer’s specified positions. The building shown on site when finished will explore a trapezium based geometry beneath a gable roof, allowing the external brickwork façade to continue seamlessly throughout. Internally, the spaces include a snug, utility room, and storage area. Future proposals allow for the development of an additional bedroom and ensuite.
Trumpington Road, Cambridge
We are currently working on a residential project in Trumpington, Cambridge, in conjunction with Katie Malik Design Studio to redesign and modernise the original build intentions, whilst introducing a rear extension and a sizeable new outbuilding connected to the existing garage. A 3D model was developed as a key design tool to explore the extension and outbuilding proposals, enabling the client to clearly visualise the design intent.
Great Oaks, Newbury
Our new-build project is finally completed, subject to a final snagging inspection, ensuring our technical detail is delivered with no visible defects. We are delighted with the outcome and with how our ideas have helped transform our client’s vision into a finished home.
Interior Design Yearbook 2026
A great start to the year being included in the 2026 Interior Design Yearbook!
The featured project is a townhouse on Onslow Road in Richmond. Our proposal transformed the interiors across each floor using traditional detailing and a natural colour palette. At lower-ground level, the space was opened up and extended with a modern Portland stone-clad extension, creating a generous open-plan family kitchen, dining and living area and enhancing the connection between inside and outside.
We are on the cover of Build it Magazine!
Our recently finished new build home is on the cover of Build It magazine’s February 2025 issue! A highly recommended read. Big thanks to Build It for the feature!
International Property Awards 2025
Proud moment for our team as we took home the International Property Award 2025! This award recognizes and celebrates not just its architectural beauty but the thoughtful design and craftsmanship that went into every detail.
A big thank you goes out to everyone who made this accomplishment possible—our incredibly talented team, our committed partners and of course, our amazing clients, who continuously inspire us to reach new heights. We ARE proud to share this milestone with you, and we’re excited for the future as we continue our work.
Sloe Cottage, Alfriston
We have redesigned this detached family home in the countryside by adding a contemporary single-story extension, replacing a garage, adjacent to the house, to create a spacious open plan kitchen and dining area while enlarging the living room within the existing house and introducing a slender pergola structure to the south facing enlarged terrace. The new design is in stark contrast to the existing building located on the fringes of Afriston village, allowing more daylight and views over the rolling hills. The building envelope is now complete, with the internal fitout finished within the south downs international park, blending the new part naturally with the existing structure.
Montpelier row, East Twickenham
We are starting works on the refurbishment and extension of an existing 1720’s Georgian Grade 2* listed terraced 7-bedroom family dwelling of around 390 m2 close to Marble Hill House, including the construction of a potentially full width single-story rear extension with replacement of the existing rear infill kitchen extension, the conversion of the existing lower ground floor dining area and adjacent room to form an independent one bedroom nanny accommodation. We also redesign parts of the first & second floors to provide additional en-suite bathrooms, as well as an overall upgrade to the building envelope and thermal performance where possible, in close cooperation with the local conservation department.
Mount Ararat Road, Richmond
This project is another classic Richmond Hill townhouse in need of extension and refurbishment. We gained planning approval to remove the rear balcony at upper ground floor level in order to add a single storey extension to the rear of the property. A spacious terrace in front creates useful outdoor seating with wide sandstone steps leading up to the elevated rear garden level. Behind the widened side entrance sits a small entrance lobby with cloaks and seating bench next to a well organised utility room with a guest toilet behind underneath the external main entrance stairs. The existing floor level has been lowered to create an open plan kitchen dining and lounge area with a modern staircase leading to the upper level. The formal through reception has been redesigned and all upper bedrooms and bathrooms refurbished with a new en-suite added to the master’s bedroom. ‘Haus and Hof’ were the interior designers with us on this project. Completion is expected end of this year.
The Threshing Barn, Worcestershire
We are currently working on the conversion of an old Threshing barn on a grade II listed farm site in Worcestershire into a new family home. The building was originally in agricultural use constructed of a solid oak beam frame structure with a double pitched roof, which was later replaced by a corrugated vaulted metal roof as often applied to these buildings. The building survey we carried out recently mapped the authentic old beam structure as well as the replacement beams added over time. The new design will reintroduce the original building shape with a new external treated timber cladding, an additional floor forming a gallery in some places to accommodate open plan areas for kitchen, dining and spacious living as well as bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms to the upper floor. Large window openings cut into the façade will allow stunning views over the adjacent fields from both floors.
Quarry House, Barham
We have recently been appointed to design a detached contemporary and very generous two-to-three-bedroom family dwelling of around 450m2 situated at the southern end of a sloping 4 ha site. The lower part of the site had been used as a chalk quarry around the 1870’s and seems ideal for the construction of a new two storey single aspect family home with intensive green roof cover so invisible from the top of the site. A further smaller plot at the bottom of the site is forming part of the dense forest with the idea that another single storey barn-like small family home can be constructed at a later stage where workers originally had sheltered structures.
The Retreat, Lefkada, Greece
After the successful coordination with our local architect in Lefkada, we received approval for this stunning single family dwelling on a sloping site with sea access and close views over Skorpios. Carved out of an overgrown plot into the typical topography of this island, we created a small private access road down to the private beach with a covered veranda structure with outdoor kitchen and changing facilities. Guest accommodation in form of oval single storey structures sit on each bend of the road leading up to the main building and further to the entrance of this site. Passed the gate a buried gate house provides accommodation for the house keeper and guests, with all facilities as well as underground garage for cars and maintenance parts to this property. Whilst a spacious wine and vegetable garden nestles along the right boundary, a beautiful garden opens towards the left of the site displaying flower beds, a water fountain and a small chapel. Whilst the guest sleeping accommodation will be covered by the natural fall of the site with cut in light wells to invite enough daylight, two large pavilions sit on top of the main structure to create an open plan living and family bedroom area with entertainment space, bathroom and changing facilities facing the pool. A circulating water steam cuts through the building originating in the guest bathroom across the connecting courtyard and terraces to cascade down a shoot into the heated infinity pool. Works to the main building is starting soon.
Onslow Road. Richmond
In 2022, we have recently finished the refurbishment and extension of this terraced Victorian family dwelling in Richmond conservation area to create an additional bedroom in the loft with shared bathroom facilities, an all glass extension to the rear whilst adding ensuite bathrooms to the first floor level. An elegant interior with modern accent to the open plan ground floor refines the designs, upmarket products and materials elevate the value of this small town centre property. We are approving a photoshoot in the near future.
Richmond Road, Cambridge
We have worked on the refurbishment and extension of an existing detached Victorian 4-bedroom family dwelling in the Cambridge Conservation area. The proposal includes the construction of a single storey ground floor wrap around rear extension replacing the existing garage structure, with a full height 3-storey infill side extension; redesign of the current lower ground floor and upper ground floor area, rearrangement of the front bedroom at first floor level with ensuite as well as a further guest bedroom and ensuite facing the garden; the redesign of the current loft level as the new master bedroom with dressing room and master ensuite bathroom; Improvements to all facades where intended as well as further internal changes to layouts at all levels. This project is carried out by a local contractor with client project management under 3s guidance.
Berwyn Road, Sheen, Richmond
This detached Edwardian 5-bedroom family home within the Richmond Conservation Area has undergone a substantial redesign and extension process. We added a two-storey extension to the side of the property tying in with the original roof shape, replaced the existing rear conservatory with a new flat roofed extension, created a separate play area with a large sized kitchen and dining area facing the rear garden. A new staircase leads up to loft level, which created an additional bedroom with en-suite, with more bathroom space added at first floor level. All windows are replaced, the entrance hall redesigned and suitable products and finishes for new areas selected. This project has been completed summer 2022.
German Design Award, 2020
3s is proud to announce that we have won the prestigious German design award 2020 for best architecture with our project “the retreat” in Lefkada. Congratulations to the team for the fabulous project!
wolsey road, east molsey
this building in the heart of east molesey has been extended before, but not necessarily improves in it’s logic and natural flow whilst rooms & functional areas have been added and connected. after inheriting the project from other architects we gave the house a fresh design by moving the entrance and staircase to the middle & reorganising all rooms on all floors whilst raising some heights to finish with a new contemporary look to a traditional elegant building facing the garden giving the project the classic 3s look. building work has been completed with the fit out work currently ongoing.
la vallee de mont blanc, mauritius
This family holiday home is idyllically located in a valley in the south east part of mauritius . the 500m2 dwelling is part of a larger suburban resort development, with private units on large plots set into the hillside, with amenity facilities and a hotel complex close by.
Due to its unique location, the contemporary design arranges itself organically into the site as an ensemble of pavilions housing kitchen, dining, living, entrance hall and parking acting as a buffer zone against the bedroom block at the rear, which has a large outdoor pool in front.
each bedroom has its own bathroom and looks out to its surrounding garden landscape with the top bedrooms enjoying additional terraces and amazing views of the valley.
princes road, kew
We have developed two replacement semi-detached houses within a conservation area in Kew. In 2019, Planning approval had been granted prior to our appointment. Our role has been to develop the technical package from an approved planning application through to construction on site. This project had been carried out as a design and build contract.

Hillway, Hampstead
This project combines two former adjacent family homes to create one large dwelling as part of a gated development close to Hampstead. Both properties show new single storey extensions, new double storey infill extensions, new dormers to the roof scape as well as a pool house extension at the perimeter of the upper building. At ground floor whilst enjoying the views out to the garden from the full width living room, a large open fireplace separates from the dining area and kitchen, with a spa room featuring a sauna, steam and shower room leading down to the pool house facing the jacuzzi and terrace. Upstairs, whilst the master bedroom with its dressing area, boudoir and ensuite overlooking ‘The Shard’ are located towards the rear, the children’s bedrooms and ensuite occupy the other building. a study to each loft floor with lookout glass dormers create additional usable space.
Eco hotel, Maldives
This exciting island hotel is a prototype in conjunction with ‘Memsys Desalination Technology’. We designed a boutique eco hotel utilising breaking edge technology for photovoltaic systems and desalination to create an operation independent from artificial resources. Whilst the main pavilion has a raised two storey structure, parabol shape umbrellas provide an extendable roof structure with free standing guest pavilions around the centre, connected with walkways to the main building.

Marlborough Road, Richmond
After a long preparation period, we completed works with our affiliated contractor on this 5-storey townhouse mimicking the neighbouring property we extended around five years ago. The former garage to the front was replaced by a sizeable utility room with a separate entrance from the front drive which is also connected to the open plan kitchen and dining room. A modern open tread staircase is leading to the upper hallway, a new study forms part of the side extension on the upper floor with access from the through-lounge next to the main entrance hall. The upper floors have been renovated, windows upgraded and walls insulated where necessary whilst the building had been fitted with a modern heating system and other technical updates. A small balcony on top of the new flat roof structure at ground floor level enables views over the sizeable rear garden.
