we have received planning approval for the single and two storey side, rear & front extensions and refurbishment of a family house in headley, epsom. this detached two storey building settles in a lush sloping garden within green belt. the ground floor has been completely redesigned with an open plan kitchen, dining and informal living area whilst opening up the rear facade by introducing large sliding doors to enjoy views over the wider landscape. a new single storey entrance will be located to the centre of the property improving circulation within the house and front to back light and aspect. on the upper floor more spacious bedrooms and bathrooms are planned and new wider traditional style roof dormers will be introduced to the west side of the house to enable french doors and juliet balconies improving daylight and aspect to the bedrooms overlooking the fields.

we have recently completed a feasibility study to the develop an apartment scheme for 24 apartments to the rear of an existing former office building facing north street, leatherhead. the proposal will result in a contemporary extension to the existing brick facing structure with the intention to introduce a well balanced scheme to this site whilst its design language creates a link between the modern commercial structure to the west and the historical buildings lining bridge street to the south.

following the approval of replacing an existing bungalow structure on the fringes of dummer with a 2-storey contemporary detached family home, we are currently preparing construction information and interior designs to bring this exciting project on site during the summer period.
onslow road, richmond
following the successful conversion of a townhouse in marlborough road, we applied for a two-storey infill extension to the side of this property with replacement of the traditional upper ground floor timber framed conservatory with a modern frameless glass extension. the lower ground floor has been completely redesigned with an open plan kitchen area to the front and dining and informal living to the rear whilst we opened the rear facade introducing large sliding doors. the outdoor terrace has been widened and will be covered with portland stone as both cheeks of the rear facade whilst implementing a new retaining wall with glazed balustrades and stairs to the upper level rear garden. a new sliding gate secures the redesigned resin bonded driveway, the facade has been chemically cleaned and repainted where needed.

we just received planning approval for the conversion of this semi-detached town house within the richmond conservation area for a two-storey rear extension complementing the completed extension of the neighbouring home as well as redesign of lower and upper ground floor as well as first floor levels. once finished, the rear reception room will open up as a gallery to the void of the tall rear extension with a stand alone sculptural staircase leading down to kitchen and dining. the front entertainment room opens up to the new light well, the rear terrace projects further into the long garden connected by gentle wide natural stone steps. this project is planned to go on site end of may 2020.

this detached double fronted building settles in front of a gently sloping garden. it will receive a full width single story extension to the rear with a sunken snug to the side. a separate yoga and small office studio replacing the current garage will complete the ensemble. this project is currently at the design stage.
all hallows church twickenham
we have just been appointed by the parish church to create a new design for the community hall at the rear of the property with the surrounding area. following the completion of a master plan for the site, the project will be implemented in three phases and will stretch over the next three years.
marlborough road, richmond
after a long preparation period, we have finally started site works on this 5-storey townhouse mimicking the neighbouring property we completed around five years ago. the former garage to the front will be replaced by a sizeable utility room with a separate entrance from the front drive which is also connected to the open plan kitchen and dining room. a guest toilet and boiler room is located underneath the external stairs, with a modern open tread staircase leading to the upper hallway. a new study will form part of the side extension on the upper floor with access from the through lounge next to the main entrance hall. the upper floors will be renovated, windows upgraded and insulated where necessary whilst the building will be fitted with a modern heating system. a small balcony on top of the new flat roof structure at ground floor level will enable views over the sizeable rear garden. the project is projected to be completed end of 2020.
sloe cottage, west street, alfriston, east sussex
planning application has been submitted for a single storey extension to an existing detached family home on the fringes of alfriston within the south downs national park. the proposed building replaces an existing outdated extension and garage facing the front of the plot. our suggested materials of vertical timber cladding together with slim framed glass elements and sliding doors will contribute to the country style character of the area.

we are currently working on the designs to this detached family country home with the idea to extend and repair the appearance of the building whilst adding a new master bedroom to the top floor, adding a gabled outrigger building to the rear of the main house, with several single storey extensions to the rear and the side, gently positioned as an intermediate structure between the elevated main building and the lush garden surrounding the house. swimming pool house and a gym building as standalone structures will be added at a later stage.

eco hotel, maldives
this exciting island hotel is a prototype in conjunction with memsys desalination technology . we have just completed design for a boutique eco hotel utilising breaking edge technology for photovoltaic systems and desalination to create an operation independent from artificial resources. whilst the main pavilion has a raised two storey structure, parabol shape umbrellas provide an extendable roof structure with free standing guest pavilions around the centre, connected with walkways to the main building. we are continuing on a detailed design stage soon.
cheyne walk, croydon
one of our previous clients has instructed us to design a residential replacement for an existing garage building at the back of residential properties in croydon. we are proposing a detached two-storey building with two double pitched wing buildings connected by a flat roofed middle section with separate access from the main road. whilst kitchen, dining, living and a bedroom/study are accommodated at ground floor level, all other sleeping accommodation is located in the new basement. the rear structure is slightly taller to house a single study at loft level, whilst the roof space of the front wing will be part of the upper bedroom space.
we have been instructed to combine two former adjacent family homes to create one large dwelling as part of a gated development close to hampstead. both properties show new single storey extensions, new double storey infill extensions, new dormers to the roof scape as well as a pool house extension at the perimeter of the upper building. at ground floor whilst you enjoy the views out to the garden from the full width living room, a large open fireplace separates from the dining area and kitchen, with a spa room featuring a sauna, steam and shower room leading down to the pool house facing the jacuzzi and terrace. upstairs, whilst the master bedroom with its dressing area, boudoir and en-suite overlooking the Shard are located towards the rear, the children’s bedrooms and en-suite occupy the other building. a study to each loft floor with lookout glass dormers create additional usable space. the project has been granted planning last year and it currently on site.

this detached 1930’s four bedroom home has been extended before with the addition of a garage and rear utility room and additional bedroom at first floor. following our instruction we suggested to visually connect the existing living room to create a larger habitable space with the kitchen swapping sides to be accommodated behind the garage. a new single storey extension will add more volume to the open space living and dining area. the existing recently added bedroom will receive an en-suite, with the remaining bedrooms reorganised to get the master bedroom more space for its own dressing and bathroom facilities. a new staircase will lead up to the spacious loft to create another bedroom with en-suite and dressing as well as access to the unused roof space for further storage. this design is currently running for planning approval.

within richmond conservation area, this detached edwardian 5-bedroom family home will undergo a substantial redesign and extension process. we suggest a two-storey extension to the side of the property, replace the existing rear conservatory with a new flat roofed extension, create a separate play area with a large sized kitchen behind facing the garden. a new staircase leads all the way up to the loft whilst we gave the building its original roof shape back, adding dormers to the rear to accommodate a bedroom and bathroom facility. the side extension will create more space to the loft, whilst additional en-suite will be added to the existing bedrooms at first floor level. all windows will be replaced, the entrance portal is redesigned, insulation added throughout and low energy heating systems added. our interior design team has chosen finishes to all major rooms and selected products and materials for all the bathrooms. the project is going on site in the coming weeks.

a rather spacious family home in the heart of richmond will receive a full depth basement with a gentle ascent towards the rear garden. by adding a single storey extension to the rear, we have redesigned the ground floor fundamentally and suggested useful changes to first and second floor level. a building contract has been awarded recently and the project goes on site in december.
airedale avenue, chiswick
this beautiful 5-bedroom family home on a corner plot in the middle of chiswick will be extended by adding a full basement underneath the existing building housing a large entertainment room, bedroom, bathroom as well as wine store, boiler and utility room, with a generous light-well facing the rear garden. we suggested essential changes to the room designs on all floors as well as a multi-functional garden house to be used as a garage, storage and entertainment room. the works are currently out to tender.
highfield crescent, northwood
this detached family dwelling situated in a cul-de-sac in northwood with its long slanted roof to the front was our starting point for adding another floor to the building as well as extending it to the side and rear. Planning has been approved this year and the project is out for tender.

end of october we received the european property award for architecture single residence – greece 2018-19 for our project ‘the retreat’ on lefkada. the same evening we received the 5 star best architecture single residence – greece 2018-19 award and have been nominated for the architecture single residence europe 2018-19 award to be announced in december this year! congratulations to the whole team as well as the client for his outstanding scope and his confidence in giving us the freedom to design this amazing property for him.
Grand Designs Birmingham October 2018
we have again exhibited this year at grand designs birmingham & received great interest from all over the country. aiming to be back at gd london on 7-12 may 2019.
following the successful development of their first timber frame modules for a bed and breakfast in Switzerland and the implementation of a new doctor’s surgery made of 10 standard sized modules, which are produced off site, we have just been given planning content for 10 student accommodation modules next to the Swiss school of Tourism and Hospitality in Chur, Switzerland. the units are in production and will be delivered in time beginning of september. further, 3s has been instructed to refurbish and fit out over the summer period the adjacent school building, housing class rooms and teaching facilities with a similar design as the new modules.

we have been appointed by the client to develop 2 replacement semi-detached houses within a conservation area in kew. planning approval had been granted prior to our appointment. our role has been to develop proposals from an approved planning application through to construction on site. excavation work has been completed over the winter period, with the contractor to implement currently the basement structure. this project is carried out as a design and build contract.
la vallee de mont blanc, mauritius
this family holiday home is idyllically located in a valley in the south east part of mauritius . the 500m2 dwelling is part of a larger suburban resort development, with private units on large plots set into the hillside, with amenity facilities and a hotel complex close by.
due to its unique location, the contemporary design arranges itself organically into the site as an ensemble of pavilions housing kitchen, dining, living, entrance hall and parking acting as a buffer zone against the bedroom block at the rear, which has a large outdoor pool in front.
each bedroom has its own bathroom and looks out to its surroundings garden landscape with the top bedrooms enjoying additional terraces and amazing views of the valley.
east twickenham conservation area, richmond
we designed a semi buried detached annex building to replace existing garages next to a large flatted development in the heart of east twickenham conservation area. whilst we introduce a classical front facade to the main road, the main body of the building separated by a terrace consists of two floors with bedrooms at lower ground and living, dining and kitchen above. a ‘living wall’ elevats towards the four-storey main building with cor-ten steel clad to all other elevations. despite its small arrangement and stunning design . the concept has been issued for planning with richmond council.
boniface road, ickenham
works to a 1200m² site in ickenham, hillingdon has commenced end of last year to construct six new build semi-detached houses, replacing a disused residential care home in the town centre. this brownfield site is partly embraced by a listed garden wall as the remaining part of an ancient apple orchard. the site had prior planning approval. our client instructed us to suggest improvements to the site layout and design of the houses. we gained successful approval in tandem with developing detail construction proposals on behalf of the contractor. most of the houses have been sold and handed over to their new owners.
river cottage, hampton court
this celebrities’ home could play the backdrop of a family tale – small detached 2-storey build facing the river, however, most views blocked by walls & small windows, upstairs a gable housing the master, with some space above the old garage for further bedrooms. by adding a 2-storey extension to the side of the building and adding full glass & sliding doors to the back whilst introducing a more open feel to the living and dining we are improving the flow & appearance of the building and modernising it’s interiors. the contractor has completed the project & is dealing with his final touches to the building.
wolsey road, east molsey
this building in the heart of east molesey has been extended before, but not necessarily improves in it’s logic and natural flow whilst rooms & functional areas have been added and connected. after inheriting the project from other architects we gave the house a fresh design by moving the entrance and staircase to the middle & reorganising all rooms on all floors whilst raising some heights to finish with a new contemporary look to a traditional elegant building facing the garden giving the project the classic 3s look. building work has been completed with the fit out work currently ongoing.

this building of towns-cape merit has been converted & extended in three stages over the past few years starting with the loft conversion and refurbishment, then the redesign of first & ground floor with an infill extension to create an open space living and dining area to the rear. this summer we have completed the last phase by adding a large side extension to the house replacing the existing garage with a further study, utility & larger kitchen area.

this amazing grade II star listed building has been operating as a pub & dining hall with guest rooms on the upper floors until recently the new owner asked us to work on a scheme which retains it’s recent functions of having food & drinks to the public, whilst enhancing the original structure of the building but stripping it from unpleasant later additions which deflected from the beauty of this old building and it’s historical narrative. currently its schemes have been produced and will be present to the English heritage for approval.

a detached family house built in the 1960’s with a rather alpine garden is to be completely refurbished & extended whilst adding a further bedroom to the mix. the dated front will be replaced by modern features & furniture, the typical roof extension frames the building whilst giving traditional living space & dining. the project nears completion in the next coming weeks.
