we replaced an old 1960’s detached building on a corner plot in the residential area of Sheen with a new 4-bedroom family home close to the Christ Church Road conservation area. a large basement has been excavated to house boiler room, storage, laundry, utility as well as a recreational area with access to a lower level rear terrace leading via a staircase to the upper terrace and garden. a full width wrap around extension adds a large living area, library, kitchen and dining area, the main building accommodates a study, boot room, large entrance and cloak area whilst upstairs bedrooms share the view to the rear garden and front, with the double aspect master at the end of the upper hallway. whilst large glass sheets allow light to penetrate into several basement rooms, a continuous glass slot brightens up the kitchen and dining room. a sizeable terrace with a planter backed seating area and bbq create a cozy intermediate zone to the garden behind.
